At today's meeting Commissioner John O'Connor reported that the recent concerns about the EMS system being overwhelmed have been heard and that he looks forward to "a solution hitting the streets in the next 24 to 48 hours."
He stated that the Director of Emergency Services has the authority to patch the gaps in our system with local resources to reduce reliance on mutual aid.

He stated that recently the EMS call volume has dramatically increased. This has caused some extended delays for ambulances to arrive.
It was further reported that Saint Marys has been increasingly reliant on mutual aid from Charles County, and even Prince Georges County.

There was no direct statement on what the support would be.
